Uzbekistan and Turkey: practical steps to new heights of economic cooperation

    On June 5 of this year, on the eve of the official visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev to Turkey, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov, as part of the Uzbek delegation, took part in a number of events held in Ankara as part of the third meeting of the Uzbek-Turkish High-level Strategic Cooperation Council.

    In particular, on the sidelines of the Uzbek-Turkish Business Forum, negotiations were held with the heads of large Turkish companies such as Onur Group, IC Ictas Insaat, YDA Group, Rönesans Holding, Ostim, Doğan Holding, Aksa Energy, Çalık Holding, Akfen Holding, Yildiz Group and others.

    During the constructive exchange of views, agreements were reached on the implementation of projects in the fields of agriculture, healthcare, textiles, geology, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, leather and shoe production, construction and energy.

    Laziz Kudratov also took part in the plenary session of the Forum, during which more than 100 representatives of the business community, heads of ministries, departments, industry associations of the two countries were able to consider in detail the current state and prospects for the development of economic cooperation, discuss topical issues, practical aspects of partnership and make new useful acquaintances in B2B and G2B format.

    On the sidelines of the Forum, the signing ceremony of investment agreements and trade contracts and the inspection by the delegations of both countries of the exhibition "Invest in Uzbekistan", organized in the building of the Association of Chambers of Commerce and Trade Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), took place.

    Following the results of the busy agenda, the heads of both new companies and long-time partners of Uzbekistan highly appreciated the work carried out in Uzbekistan to improve the investment climate and create comfortable conditions for investors and expressed readiness for further development of investment and trade cooperation with Uzbek partners.
