Uzbekistan took part in the meeting of the Interstate Council for Natural and Man-made Emergencies

    On June 19, the XXXVI meeting of the Interstate Council for Natural and Man-made Emergencies took place at the CIS headquarters in Minsk. The event was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the CIS Executive Committee, as well as members of the Council of Permanent Plenipotentiaries to the statutory and other bodies of the Commonwealth.

    At the meeting, the Chairman of the Interstate Council was elected - he became the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus Vadim Sinyavsky, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.

    The participants of the meeting discussed topical issues of activities in the field of prevention and liquidation of natural and man-made emergencies, analyzed the work to strengthen the interaction of public authorities responsible for the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations in order to effectively ensure fire, industrial, nuclear and radiation safety.

    The meeting summed up the work of the Interstate Council in 2023-2024, reviewed the implementation of its decisions and discussed measures to improve cooperation.

    During the meeting, the Schedule of control checks of mutual notification of the CIS states about natural and man-made emergencies and the Plan of the main activities of the Interstate Council for 2024-2025 were approved, issues of improving the response and technical equipment of rescue agencies in the framework of emergency response were considered.

    In addition, the Council members analyzed the work of two basic organizations - in the field of science and high technologies to protect the population and territories from emergencies and to train personnel in the field of emergency prevention and response, and also considered the possibility of holding exercises of the CIS Forces Corps in 2025.

    It was decided that the next meeting of the Interstate Council for Natural and Man-made Emergencies will be held in Tajikistan in 2025.
