Young musicians from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will perform works of Russian and foreign classics, as well as the ancient Khorezm melody "Norim-Norim".
The Russian State Symphony Orchestra of Cinematography, led by People's Artist of Russia Sergei Skripka, performs as the base for the orchestra's work throughout the year. Together with the maestro, Konstantin Naumenko and Rasul Klychev, Chief Conductor of the State Orchestra of Turkmenistan, will stand at the conductor's desk in Samarkand.
The performance of the orchestra will be the final chord of a series of bright events that took place in ancient Samarkand in the year when the city was in the status of the Cultural Capital of the Commonwealth. An important part of this program was implemented with the support of the IFGS.
With the assistance of the Foundation, librarians held an international conference "Bibliocity: Partnership and Innovation", well-known creative teams of the CIS performed at a Gala concert on the occasion of the opening of the Cultural Capital program. As part of the closing of the program, Samarkand will pass the baton to the Azerbaijani city of Lachin.
