The event was attended by more than two thousand delegates from 164 countries and more than 20 international organizations. The session discussed topical issues of combating drug addiction and drug crime, according to the Dune news agency.
During the session, the delegation of Uzbekistan made a national statement, presenting the concept of the National Strategy for 2024-2028. An appeal was also made to the international community to support Uzbekistan's candidacy for election to the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs in 2027.
Special attention was paid to the event (side event) dedicated to the presentation of Uzbekistan's experience in the prevention of drug addiction and drug crime among women, the fight against drug trafficking in Afghanistan and in the region as a whole. Within the framework of this event, Uzbekistan's experience in creating specialized rehabilitation centers for women and implementing preventive programs was also presented.
Representatives of the Uzbek delegation took an active part in important events organized jointly with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and the European Union, and also held productive meetings aimed at strengthening international cooperation.
