During the meeting, it was noted that cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime has reached a new level, especially in countering drug trafficking, organized transnational crime, human trafficking and terrorism.
During the conversation, the role of Parliament in ensuring the priority of human rights and gender equality in the region, creating decent working conditions, and combating corruption and human trafficking was discussed in detail.
It was stated that Uzbekistan has established the legislative framework for a decisive fight against corruption, which is internationally recognized.
It was emphasized that the country has achieved positive results in solving the problems of human trafficking, forced labor and migrant workers abroad. In this regard, Uzbekistan's position in international rankings and indices has improved. There was also an exchange of views on strengthening cooperation with the organization to achieve such positive results in the future.
The parties agreed to intensify cooperation on the widespread use of modern information technologies in the prevention of crime and delinquency.
