According to preliminary trade statistics, in August 2023, Uzbekistan exported 19.1 thousand tons of fresh melon for a total of 5.5 million dollars, which in physical terms is 11.7% more than the total volume of exports in the previous three months - from the beginning of May to the end of July this year. We remind you that the current export season of Uzbek melon started in the first decade of May with the start of deliveries of early varieties of melon to foreign markets.

The volume of Uzbek melon exports in August 2023 also turned out to be 7.2% more compared to the same period last year.

A sharp increase in the volume of shipments of Uzbek melon to foreign markets in August of this year was facilitated by the dynamics of wholesale prices for these products. Wholesale melon prices in Uzbekistan declined until the end of July, and in August they remained stable at the same level. As a result of the multidirectional movement of wholesale prices for these products in August of this year and last year, the gap with last year's levels not only began to shrink, but led to the fact that in the third decade of this month, current wholesale prices were lower compared to the same period last year.

In just four months since the beginning of the current season - in May-August 2023, Uzbekistan exported 36.1 thousand tons of fresh melon for a total of $ 11.9 million, which in physical terms is 9% less than the record figure in the same period last year.
