High harvest and low prices for peach and nectarine in Uzbekistan this season contribute to increasing shipments of these products to foreign markets.

This year, the export season of peaches and nectarines from Uzbekistan started in the third decade of May, and in the first two months since the beginning of the season, a record volume of these products was delivered to foreign markets, EastFruit analysts say.

According to preliminary trade statistics, from May 21 to July 20, 2023, Uzbekistan exported 51.1 thousand tons of peaches and nectarines for a total of $ 41 million, which in physical terms is 27% more than in the same period last year and almost 2 times more than in the same period of 2021.

Considering that there are still about two months until the end of the export season of Uzbek peaches and nectarines, by the end of this year Uzbekistan can update the previous record for the export of these products. The absolute record for the export of Uzbek peaches and nectarines was set in 2020, when at the end of the season Uzbekistan exported 82.2 thousand tons of these products for a total of 61.3 million dollars.

It should be noted that in the first two months of the beginning of the season, the volume of exports of Uzbek peaches and nectarines exceeded the indicator of the same period in 2020 by 25%.

The high harvest and relatively low prices for these products this season contribute to the increase in exports. As of July 21, 2023, the average wholesale price of peach and nectarine in Uzbekistan is 27% lower than on the same date last year and 38% lower than on the same date in 2021.
