In Akhsikent, archaeologists led by Professor Abdulhamid Anorboev have completed the excavation of the foundation of the first open-air museum object.

From August to September of this year, a foundation trench was dug for the open-air museum with a width of 2.1 meters, a depth of 1.5 meters and a length of 40 meters. Its direction from south to north began from a height of 23.5 meters. Along this perimeter there is a defensive wall of the IX-XIII centuries, another part of which was discovered during excavations of the XIX century.

The ancient and medieval defensive walls of the XIX century were built on a natural hill and for some time lost their significance. Only in the first quarter of the XIII century, a less durable defensive wall was erected over it. In October last year, the underground waterway and defensive walls from the second settlement to the western Rabad were revealed, as well as the actual size and style of masonry of the raw bricks used for it.

"During these studies, a part of the 1.2-meter-high wall was opened and studied. The distance between the powerful straw wall of the previous period under it was 0.8 meters. This interval consists of a less dense layer. The layer consists mainly of waste, granular soil, in a smaller number of fragments of burnt and raw bricks and soil. Ceramics of the late XII - early XIII centuries were found in the layer," said archaeologist Shukrullo Nasriddinov.

During the excavations, numerous vessels and jugs, ceramic products and pipes, as well as coins of different eras were found.
