A draft program on mutual recognition of migrant workers' documents is being developed in the CIS

    A meeting to review the draft Program on mutual recognition of documents of migrant workers of the CIS member States was held at the CIS headquarters in Minsk.

    The meeting, which was held via videoconference, was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States, the Council of Heads of Migration Authorities and the Executive Committee of the Commonwealth.

    The Executive Committee informed the audience about the development of cooperation between the CIS countries in the field of labor migration.

    The Uzbek side presented to the participants of the meeting a draft program of cooperation on the creation of a single mechanism for mutual recognition of documents of migrant workers. During the meeting, representatives of the CIS member states exchanged views on this document, and also expressed the expediency of its discussion by all interested ministries and departments and bodies of sectoral cooperation.

    The presentation of the representative of the IPA CIS on the preparation of model agreements in the field of labor migration was heard. A proposal was made to develop a draft model agreement "On mutual recognition of documents of migrant workers of the CIS member states".

    The participants of the meeting noted the work carried out in the format of bilateral cooperation on regulating issues of mutual recognition of documents of migrant workers and expressed interest in the consideration by the competent authorities of the Commonwealth countries of the issue of developing a draft model agreement.
