A regular meeting of Defense Ministers of the SCO member states has begun in Tashkent

    Today, on August 24, a regular meeting of defense ministers of the organization's member states began in Tashkent within the framework of Uzbekistan's chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).

    The meeting is attended by the heads of the military departments of the member states and observer states, as well as representatives of the SCO Secretariat.

    In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the delegations will discuss a number of issues in the military sphere. The sides will also exchange views on challenges and threats to regional and international security to the SCO member states and measures to neutralize them.

    Before the meeting, the heads of the military departments of India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan, as well as Belarus, as an observer country at the SCO, laid flowers at the monument "Ode to Perseverance" in Tashkent's Victory Park, the news agency "Dunyo" reports.

    Recall that the previous Meeting of Defense Ministers of the SCO member states was held on July 28, 2021 in the city of Dushanbe (Tajikistan).
