The meeting was attended by Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Yasutoshi Nishimura, Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov (online), Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev (online), Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Control of Kyrgyzstan Melis Turgunbayev, Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan Daler Juma, Minister of State of Turkmenistan - Chairman of the State Concern "Turkmangaz" Maksat Babayev, heads and employees of diplomatic missions, reports the news agency "Dunyo".
Opening the meeting, Japanese Minister Yasutoshi Nishimura noted the importance of Central Asia from a geographical and political point of view. He also said that the Japanese side pays great attention to the further development of trade, economic and energy cooperation between Japan and Central Asian countries.
Yasutoshi Nishimura stressed the great importance of expanding cooperation between the countries, the development of alternative energy, the development of hydrogen energy technologies, the introduction of carbon dioxide capture technologies for the transition to a green economy.
During the meeting, the ministers of Central Asian countries spoke and gave detailed information about the transition to green energy in the countries, reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, the introduction of alternative energy, as well as state policy and ongoing programs in this direction.
Following the meeting, a joint statement was adopted.
