The Central Bank of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the heads of private commercial banks

    Chairman of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan Timur Ishmetov met with the heads of private commercial banks, as well as banks with foreign capital participation.

    According to the press service of the Central Bank, an exchange of views took place at the meeting on the priorities set for the banking system by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as on issues to be implemented in the future.

    Topical topics such as the development of digital banking services, the introduction of new banking products for micro and small businesses, expanding cooperation with international financial institutions, increasing the availability of banking services, improving the lending system and other important issues were discussed.

    It was also noted that it is necessary to comprehensively study practical proposals for further improvement of the regulatory framework of the banking system.

    The heads of banks who participated in the event expressed their suggestions on increasing the types of credit products and improving the scoring-analysis system of lending.

    In addition, the participants exchanged views on expanding the coverage of banking services to the population through improving financial literacy, as well as measures to combat cyber threats and fraud.

    Following the meeting, the chairman of the Central Bank stated that he was always ready to conduct open dialogues with the heads of commercial banks, exchange ideas and get acquainted with their proposals for further improvement of the sector.
