In Uzbekistan, violations with overcharging in 473 pharmacies were revealed

    Since the beginning of the year, the Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection has revealed price overstatement when selling medicines in 473 pharmacies, the press service of the department reported.

    During inspections on applications for exceeding reference prices received through the Fair Tech system, 49.4 thousand violations committed by 133 wholesale and 340 retail outlets were revealed. The total unjustified income amounted to 5.4 billion soums.

    Of this amount, more than a third (1.9 billion soums) fell on Tashkent. 17.2 thousand overpriced receipts were found in 71 pharmacies.

    Namangan region takes the second place with 1.01 billion soums, where violations were detected in 44 pharmacies.

    Surkhandarya takes the third place, where 7 pharmacies received 914 million soums due to overpricing.

    The largest number of pharmacies with violations was found in the Tashkent region (111), but the total amount of income from overcharging amounted to only 39 million soums.

    The smallest number of outlets with violations was found in Khorezm - 5 pharmacies and 10 million soums. In Kashkadarya region, the difference as a result of overpricing amounted to 18.8 million soums.

    Lists of pharmacies that have allowed the sale of medicines at inflated prices are published on the official pages of the committee.

    Appropriate liability measures are being taken in relation to pharmacies.
