    Uzbekistan 1 May 2021 1590

On May 1, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the groundbreaking site of a new park in Tashkent region’s Qibray district.

Green space plays an important role in creating a comfortable and favorable living environment. Therefore, new parks and alleys are being created in the cities and districts of the country. Green areas are especially important for the developing Tashkent, where large-scale construction work has been launched in recent years.

At the initiative of the Head of the state, a large park is being created near the capital. The project of the park was discussed on February 25. Today, the first trees were planted here.

Deputies, members of the parliament and the government, residents of Tashkent, representatives of the older generation, scientists and artists, athletes and young people gathered here.

“I am glad to meet you on these bright days of Ramadan. We have started large-scale activities to create decent conditions for our people. God willing, we are starting to create a 104-hectare park in this picturesque place. I think that creating the park during this month of grace is a good sign”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The new park is notable not only for its landscape, but also for its content. The trees will be planted in the form of five branches of a huge tree, which will symbolize the five priority areas of the Action Strategy.

The goal is to create not just a green zone, but a place of high culture and spirituality, a place where people can relax in the bosom of nature. Chestnuts, oaks, maples, tulip and linden trees, unique ornamental plants, shrubs and flowers will be planted. It is also planned to organize an artificial lake, sports and children's playgrounds, fountains.

Istiqlol Complex, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, will also be built here.

The President noted the ideological and historical significance of this complex.

“This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of our independence. But our statehood dates back 3 thousand years. There will be a complex that will show this great story. And young people, foreign guests who will come here, will make sure of this”, the President noted.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that the park should be a complex that reflects the new image of Uzbekistan, its huge potential, unity and cohesion of our multinational people. With this in mind, he proposed to name this majestic park “New Uzbekistan”. The proposal was supported by the gathered participants of the event.

The Head of the state together with the public planted trees in the new park.

As previously reported, an Olympic Town will be built next to the park.
