    The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the inter-ministerial consultations on cooperation between the CIS countries within the framework of UNESCO

    The meeting was attended by representatives of Uzbekistan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the CIS Executive Committee. A representative of Azerbaijan was present as an observer.

    The participants of the consultations discussed issues of coordinating the activities of the CIS member states at UNESCO, including joint initiatives on this site. They exchanged views on the results of the 219th session of the UNESCO Executive Board, experience in creating and organizing the work of UNESCO program and regional committees. We considered the issue of preparation for the 46th session of the World Heritage Committee.

    Special attention was paid to the topic of strengthening cooperation in UNESCO network formats (associated schools, departments, biosphere reserves, global geoparks, creative and learning cities).

    The implementation of the provisions of The Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict, the 70th anniversary of which is celebrated in 2024, is considered.

    The participants of the consultations decided to continue the practice of holding consultations on the topic of interaction within the framework of UNESCO.
