The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the Second Rectors' Forum held in Tajikistan

    On September 13, the Second Forum of Rectors of Central Asian countries was held at the National University of Tajikistan. The forum was attended by representatives of scientific circles, rectors and teachers of more than 80 universities of Central Asia, including the delegation of Uzbekistan, consisting of rectors and vice-rectors of higher educational institutions of our country.

    The conference was opened by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan R. Saidzoda, assessing it as a result of the created opportunities for establishing a dialogue between the scientific intelligentsia of our countries. R. Saidzoda noted that today's event is organized within the framework of the Fifth Advisory Council of the Heads of Central Asian states, in particular, this initiative was put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and later by the rectors of the countries Central Asia.

    In turn, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. Nurbek noted that the current process of globalization and the time of political changes is an opportunity to turn the Central Asian region into an educational "hub".

    Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan S. Buzrukhanov spoke about the reforms in the field of higher education in Uzbekistan. He also proposed to consider the organization of a meeting of Ministers of Education and rectors of the "European Union - Central Asia" in Uzbekistan next year.

    The Forum participants took part with their reports in two working sessions of the Forum - "Trends in international education in a changing world: traditions and innovations" and "Development of scientific and pedagogical cooperation as a factor of international integration in a multicultural educational space".

    In the speech of the heads of universities, important aspects of the integration of the higher education system of Central Asian countries into the world educational space, strategies of interuniversity cooperation, the creation of joint projects and their success were noted.

    As a result of the negotiations, Uzbekistan's universities signed more than 20 Memoranda of Understanding, agreements and roadmaps covering various areas.

    Within the framework of the conference, a meeting of rectors was held in the U-2-U (University-University) format.
