The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan: foreigners who have not committed offenses are not subject to forced deportation

    In connection with the recent frequent appeals of citizens with a request to clarify certain issues on the situation around Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan informs the following.

    The Republic of Uzbekistan is invariably committed in the implementation of its foreign policy to national interests, fundamental principles, including openness, equality, respect for sovereignty, territorial integrity, non-interference in the internal affairs of other States.

    Uzbekistan stands for the early formation of conditions for the settlement of the current situation by political and diplomatic means in accordance with the norms of international law.

    With regard to the increase in the number of arriving citizens of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, we note that the issue of their stay in our country is regulated by the legislation of Uzbekistan, bilateral and multilateral legal acts, including their possible extradition.

    At the same time, citizens of foreign countries who have not committed an offense are not subject to forced deportation, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
