The updated Constitution opens up new opportunities for young people

    The Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi held a campaign event on the theme "Our Constitution is the key to our bright future."

    It was attended by the Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality Malika Kadirkhanova and Senator Gulnora Marufova, who works on a permanent basis in this committee, who gave a broad explanation about the essence and significance of constitutional reforms and the referendum.

    Thus, for the first time, the new version of the draft Constitution includes provisions on granting academic freedom to higher educational organizations, support for non-governmental educational organizations.

    The new version of the Constitution guarantees free higher education at the expense of the state on a competitive basis. The senators emphasized that until 2017 the number of state grants for admission to universities was only decreasing, over the past six years the situation in this matter has completely changed, the number of grants has increased by 2 times and reached 40 thousand.

    The senators emphasized that these norms contain important provisions aimed at creating conditions for the younger generation to master modern specialties, obtain higher education, and sustainable development of the education system.

    The updated Constitution also notes that the State creates conditions for the development of preschool education and upbringing, and primary vocational education is free. During the discussion, it was emphasized that over the past six years, kindergarten coverage has increased from 27% to 70%. New norms are being included in the Constitution, which will allow achieving new goals in this direction.

    During the event, it was emphasized that every citizen of our country should not be indifferent to the referendum, but should actively participate in building their future.
