On November 14, 2022, the launch ceremony of Huawei's eighth educational project "Seeds for the Future" for students of Uzbekistan took place. The ceremony was held at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) with the participation of students and representatives of the leadership of seven universities in Uzbekistan.

The Seeds for the Future program is a flagship educational project that unites students from 137 countries and regions from 500 universities around the world. 12,000 of the best students completed the internship program, including participants who visited Huawei's headquarters in China, and online participants of the 2020 and 2021 projects.

On November 14, the Seeds for the Future 2022 project was launched in Uzbekistan, which for the eighth year provides students with the opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge in the field of ICT technologies, listen to lectures on strengthening leadership skills, study successful cases of implementing digital solutions to ensure the sustainable development of the planet and societies, exchange cultural values with participants from other countries, as well as learn about the traditions and culture of China. This year, Uzbek students will take part in the project together with students from Austria, Rwanda and Serbia.

"The Seeds for the Future project is a unique phenomenon that unites thousands of students around the world into a single community, provides an opportunity to strengthen digital knowledge and acquire new skills, expand your horizons and make new friends. Project participants, after graduation from universities, easily become IT specialists and contribute to the development of the entire ICT industry. This year we welcome participants from seven universities of Uzbekistan, which proves the high interest in creating a high-quality talent pool and training highly qualified personnel from all partners in the IT industry ecosystem," said Chen Jiakai, Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan.

In previous years, as part of the project, 50 TUIT students visited China and completed an internship at the company's head office. In connection with the pandemic in 2020, the Seeds for the Future project was organized in an online format for participants from TUIT and Inha University in Tashkent. Last year, the project was held in a hybrid format in the Huawei office in Uzbekistan for students of four universities of Uzbekistan - TUIT, Amity University in Tashkent, Kim International University in Tashkent (formerly. The Technical Institute of Edzhu) and the Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent. Taking into account that digital development and the introduction of technologies concerns various spheres of the economy and society, this year students of not only universities with specialized IT areas became participants in the project, but also students from the Tashkent International University of Education and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers were invited to participate.

For reference: "Seeds for the Future" is a global program of Huawei, implemented within the framework of corporate social responsibility. In 2017, four participants of the Seeds for the Future project from Uzbekistan were invited to participate in the One Belt, One Road International Summit in Beijing, presenting the project to the heads of state and government who attended the summit from 30 countries. In 2019, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the People's Republic of China took part in the award ceremony in the city of Shenzhen and supported the project participants with a welcoming speech, noting the importance of training young specialists in the IT field.
