Uzbekistan and China enter a new stage of cooperation in vocational education

Important Decrees and Resolutions aimed at deepening reforms in the vocational education system were recently signed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Second China–Uzbekistan Education Forum and the first meeting of the Vocational Education Alliance, held in Tashkent, further strengthened cooperation between the two countries on personnel training and the introduction of modern educational technologies.

The forum was attended by representatives of several higher and secondary specialized educational institutions and vocational training centers from China, as well as over 160 educational organizations from Uzbekistan.

Currently, more than 442,000 students are studying in 370 professions across 598 technical schools in our country. Furthermore, personnel are being trained based on international programs in 47 technical schools in cooperation with companies such as “Pearson” from Great Britain, “ACWA Power” from Saudi Arabia, “Globogate” from Switzerland and “Avestos” and “BSW” from Germany.

Cooperation with the Republic of China is also consistently expanding. Currently, large Chinese companies such as BYD, Huawei, and ZTE operate in our country. Both sides are interested in training mid-level specialists required for these companies.

For reference, the Uzbekistan–China Vocational Education Alliance, established in 2024, includes 23 technical schools from Uzbekistan and 128 colleges and 9 companies from China as members. Additionally, there are plans to establish two "Uzbekistan–China workshops" in each region of our country, and project work has already begun in a total of 28 technical schools.
