The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met the President of Russia at the international airport in Tashkent.
The national flags of the two countries were raised and a guard of honor was lined up in honor of the distinguished guest.
The main events of the visit will take place tomorrow, May 27.
During the high-level talks, the leaders will consider further developing and deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.
A package of bilateral documents is planned to be adopted following the summit. The presidents will also attend the first meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia.
