Senators discussed issues of overcoming problems in the field of migration

    On November 4, a meeting of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism was held.

    It heard information from the heads of responsible ministries and departments on the implementation of the tasks defined by the roadmap for the comprehensive study of existing issues, the elimination of problems in the field of migration and further regulation of this area.

    It was noted that it is planned to intensify Uzbekistan's cooperation with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), accelerate cooperation with recruiting organizations and potential employers of developed and leading foreign countries.

    Attention was also focused on such issues as the comprehensive protection of the rights and interests of victims, a significant reduction in the number of citizens traveling to informal labor migration, and the regulation of vocational training centers.

    It was also noted at the meeting that there were systemic problems and shortcomings in the timely and high-quality implementation of the roadmap.

    Thus, the shortcomings are listed, which are related to the need to improve the regulatory legal acts regulating the activities of private consulting agencies and vocational training centers in the field of migration, combating human trafficking and preventing illegal migration.

    It was noted that it is necessary to continue to intensify cooperation between our country and foreign partner countries in the field of migration in order to properly implement the goals and objectives set in priority areas.

    At the end of the meeting, the members of the Senate presented relevant proposals and recommendations to solve existing problems in this area and the relevant decision of the Committee was adopted.
