At the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the further development of cooperation between the transport authorities of the SCO member states within the framework of the decisions taken by the heads of state.
At the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify cooperation between the existing mechanisms in the organization for the development of transport dependence, expansion of the transport and transit potential of the SCO region, search for consolidated approaches to the processes of decarbonization of transport and the implementation of adopted documents in the transport sector.
Mamanbiy Omarov, First Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, who was present at the meeting, stressed the need to complete the process of forming a unified transport network that creates a global continuous supply chain in the North-South and East-West directions for the organization's member countries and beyond, in order to more effectively use the possibilities of land and multimodal transport corridors.
Mamanbiy Omarov also noted the importance of developing digitalization of the transportation process, simplifying the crossing of cross-border points.
In 2021, at the initiative of Uzbekistan, the e-permit system was introduced in Turkey. In April 2024, the system was successfully launched in Kazakhstan. Currently, active work is underway with Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Azerbaijan to create this system.
"In order to expand the geography of the use of electronic permits, we urge other SCO member states to join the E-permit system and gradually use the electronic letter on the transportation of eCMR goods," M. Omarov said.
