The play "Lazgi. The Dance of Soul and Love" will open the International Opera and Ballet Festival in Tashkent

    From February 28 to March 16, 2024, Tashkent will host the annual International Opera and Ballet Festival, organized by the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan.

    The play "Lazgi. The Dance of Soul and Love" by the National Ballet of Uzbekistan will be the opening event of the festival. Screenings are scheduled for February 24-25.

    Lazgi, which is an incredibly vibrant Khorezm dance, is included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural heritage of mankind.

    A team of international experts worked on the production of the play. The music for the work was written by composer Davidson Giaconello, the impressive scenery and animation were created by the world-famous Japanese multimedia artist Yoko Seyama.

    The author of the libretto and the choreographer is Raoul Raymond Rebeck, a famous German dancer, choreographer of the Dortmund Ballet and artistic director of NRW Junior Ballet. He is also the recipient of prestigious international awards, including the Prix de Lausanne.
