According to the telegram channel of the Foundation for the Development of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan, the parties discussed practical aspects of comprehensive preparations for the upcoming anniversary session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand in November 2025, which for the first time in the last forty years will be held outside the headquarters in Paris, the Dunyo news agency reports.
At the meeting, special attention was paid to the implementation of preparatory work and joint measures to ensure that this historic UNESCO event in Uzbekistan is held at the highest organizational and substantive level.
Agreements have been reached on the preparation and adoption of new global initiatives within the framework of UNESCO's mandate, as well as strategic projects and programs for the development of bilateral cooperation during the upcoming General Conference in Samarkand.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere, and the commitment to further strengthen the full-scale partnership between UNESCO and Uzbekistan was confirmed.
