The event was attended by representatives of relevant ministries and departments of the two countries, industry associations, representatives of more than 200 large Malay and Uzbek companies.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan J. Khodjaev stressed that trade and economic relations with Malaysia have been strengthening in recent years, and that this visit will serve to further expand cooperation. A favorable investment environment has been created in our country, legislation is being improved, and an active policy of economic liberalization is being pursued.
The business forum discussed current issues of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as measures to develop industrial cooperation.
A number of documents on trade and economic cooperation were signed at the event.
In particular, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Malaysian Corporation for the Development of Foreign Trade (MATRADE).
