The Uzbek-Iranian Business Forum has started its work in Tashkent

    The Uzbek-Iranian Business Forum has started its work in Tashkent today. This important event was organized with the assistance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tehran, the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tashkent City Administration and the Iranian side.

    The forum is attended by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mining and Agriculture of Iran Samad Hasanzadeh, as well as heads of relevant ministries and departments and representatives of more than 200 business structures from both countries, reports news agency "Dunyo".

    The main theme of the forum is to strengthen bilateral ties between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Iran, which will be a decisive factor for the further development of investment, trade and economic cooperation.

    In 2023, the mutual trade turnover between the two countries amounted to $ 503.4 million, of which exports - $ 180.6 million, and imports - $ 322 million. In January-August 2024, the trade turnover reached 314.7 million dollars, exports amounted to 105.9 million dollars, and imports - 208.8 million dollars.

    To date, 268 enterprises with the participation of Iranian capital operate in Uzbekistan, of which 121 are joint ventures and 147 are foreign.

    Recall that on September 20, the business forum will be held in ancient Khiva.
