The Uzbek-Iranian Business Forum was held in Tashkent

    On September 19 of this year, an Uzbek-Iranian Business Forum was held in Tashkent as part of the visit of a delegation of business representatives led by representatives of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture.

    This event was organized with the cooperation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of our country in Tehran, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the administration of Tashkent city and the Iranian side.

    The event was attended by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, President of the Chamber of Commerce, Mining and Agriculture of Iran Samad Hasanzadeh, heads of relevant ministries and departments, industry associations, as well as representatives of more than 200 business circles of the two countries.

    Addressing the forum participants, Davron Vakhabov thanked the numerous Iranian business delegation for the visit and expressed hope that these events will become another opportunity to strengthen trade and economic relations between our countries.

    The main theme of the event was the strengthening of bilateral relations between the business circles of both countries as a decisive factor in the further development of investment and trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran.

    Within the framework of the event program, presentations were made on the most promising areas of attracting investments, as well as the investment potential of Uzbekistan in priority sectors and ready-made project proposals.

    It was noted with satisfaction that friendly and good-neighborly relations between the two countries are developing rapidly. In 2023, the mutual trade turnover amounted to $ 503.4 million, exports - $180.6 million, imports - $ 322 million, in January-August 2024 - $ 314.7 million, exports - $ 105.9 million, imports - $ 208.8 million.

    Today, 268 enterprises with the participation of Iranian capital operate in our country. Of these, 121 are joint ventures, 147 are foreign enterprises.

    The event discussed promising projects in the fields of industry, innovation, agriculture and water management, food, fisheries, building materials, medicine and pharmaceuticals, textiles, logistics and mechanical engineering. Also, negotiations were held in the B2B format between representatives of the Iranian business community and entrepreneurs of Tashkent city.

    During the visit, the Iranian delegation will hold meetings in relevant ministries and departments of our country, visit free economic industrial zones. A joint Uzbek-Iranian business forum is planned in Khiva on September 20.
