Clusters of the leather and shoe industry will be created in Uzbekistan

    The Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On measures to bring the leather and shoe, silk-weaving and carpet industries to a new level of development" (PP No. 181 dated 05/20/2024) was adopted.

    According to the Decree, due to the expansion of the territory of the small industrial zone of the leather and shoe industry established in Sharaf Rashidovsky and Akhangaran districts, clusters of the leather and shoe industry specializing in deep processing of leather and production of finished products will be created.

    Industrial buildings and structures under construction on the territory of industrial zones are provided to entrepreneurs directly on installment or lease terms for up to 7 years.

    Interest expenses on loans allocated in foreign currency in the amount of no more than 3 million US dollars for the purchase of equipment for the production of shoes and leather goods, exceeding 6 percentage points, but not more than 5 percent, are reimbursed by JSC Enterprise Development Company.

    Enterprises producing shoes and leather goods that attract foreign brands are reimbursed up to 30 thousand US dollars in costs for "sourcing" companies.

    Enterprises established in industrial zones are exempt from property tax, land tax and tax for the use of water resources, according to the Ministry of Justice.
