In Uzbekistan, lonely elderly and people with disabilities will be able to get a free train or bus ticket

    Resolution No. 733 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 04.11.2024 approved the Regulation on the procedure for issuing free tickets for railway transport or intercity bus to lonely and lonely elderly and persons with disabilities in need of outside care.

    The regulation provides for the procedure for issuing tickets for free trips and their accounting, as well as a mechanism for compensating the costs of free trips.

    The Inson Social Services Center maintains a Register of Single and Lonely Elderly and Persons with Disabilities in need of outside Care in the Unified National Social Protection information system (Registry).

    The document stipulates that within a month, authorized units of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC and officials of bus stations will have access to the Register.

    Single elderly and persons with disabilities included in the register and their immediate accompanying person are allocated free railway or intercity bus tickets (round trip) once a year.

    To apply for a free travel ticket, a single person, as well as elderly people and people with disabilities in need of care, must present an identity document to an official.

    The document was published in the National Database of Legislation in the state language and entered into force on 04.11.2024, Norma reports.
