    The Constitutional Law "On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan", adopted at a referendum on April 30, entered into force on May 1, 2023 on the basis of a resolution of the Central Election Commission.

    On May 1, the Central Election Commission announced the final results of Sunday's referendum on the Constitution of Uzbekistan in a new edition.

    The head of the CEC, Zainiddin Nizamkhodjaev, said at a briefing that due to the serious violations revealed, the results of voting at three polling stations in Tashkent, Tashkent and Syrdarya regions were canceled. In this regard, "minor changes" have been made to the voting results.

    The turnout at the referendum was 84.5% (84.54% was previously reported). In total, 16 million 667 thousand 97 voted (there were 16 million 673 thousand 189 people) out of 19 million 722 thousand 809 registered voters. 611 thousand 320 of them voted early.

    90.2% (90.21%) of the citizens who took part in the vote voted for changing the Constitution, or 15 million 34 thousand 608 people (there were 15 million 40 thousand 55), against - 9.35%, or 1 million 558 thousand 817 (there were also 9.35%, or 1 million 559 thousand 200).

    The number of invalid ballots was 73,672 (73,934), or 0.44%.
