Opportunities are being created in Uzbekistan for young scientists to conduct internships in leading scientific organizations in Iran

    Currently, the delegation headed by Janibek Tavakalov, Executive Director of the Science Financing and Innovation Support Fund of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, is on a business trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran.

    During the visit, meetings were held with the leadership and staff of the National Science Foundation of Iran, the Organization for Agricultural Research, Education and Development of Iran, the Cancer Institute of Iran, the Center for Cancer Research and the Center for Advanced Clinical Training of Iran.

    Following the meeting, the parties signed memoranda and agreements on the implementation of scientific projects in cooperation with the above-mentioned organizations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the participation of young scientists of Uzbekistan in scientific internships in these organizations.

    In particular, a meeting was held with representatives of the National Science Foundation of Iran. During the meeting, information was provided on projects funded by the National Science Foundation of Iran, and both sides discussed the announcement of joint tenders, including the parameters of cooperation and the terms of the contract. Following the negotiations between the Agency, the Foundation and the National Science Foundation of Iran, a memorandum was signed on the organization and financing of the selection of scientific projects for cooperation in 2023-2025.

    Also during the visit, at the invitation of the Organization for Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization, a meeting was held with the director of the organization Turazh Valinasab.

    For information: The Organization for Agricultural Research, Education and Development was founded in 1974 and is the largest agricultural research system in the Middle East. It consists of 19 research institutes, 23 incubation centers, 34 regional research and educational centers and 360 test sites.

    During the meeting, information was exchanged on the reforms implemented in the field of science and innovation in recent years, and the issue of organizing short-term scientific internships of young scientists in cooperation was also discussed. As a result, an agreement was signed between the Agency, the Foundation and the Organization of Agricultural Research, Education and Development on the direction of young scientists for short-term scientific internships.

    The main areas of the internship were defined as biotechnology, soil science, agrotechnology, cultivation of salt-resistant plants and horticulture.

    At the same time, during the visit, a meeting was organized with the Director of the Iranian Institute of Advanced Medical Technologies and Equipment, Professor Saeed Sarkor.

    During the meeting, the parties held talks on areas of possible cooperation in the future, including the creation of opportunities for scientific internships in the field of surgery, and preliminary agreements were reached.
