According to him, Uzbekistan has established close cooperation with China in this area. He emphasized that Russia is one of the main partners and the largest investor in the energy sector of the republic.
The first deputy head of the Ministry of Energy added that currently Uzbek specialists, together with colleagues from Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, are working on the possibility of building several hydroelectric power plants on the territory of these republics.
"These projects are designed to solve not only the issues of energy supply, but also the issue of ensuring water balance, which is particularly important for the region," A. Akhmedkhodjayev explained. "The ever-growing demand for energy resources on the one hand and climate change on the other hand require us to combine our efforts in finding the most acceptable ways to provide energy."
