This is stated in the report of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan on foreign exchange transactions of individuals.
During this period, 78% of all transfers came from Russia ($9.8 billion), which is 35% more than last year.
The rest of these transfers came from countries such as Kazakhstan (699 million), the United States (470 million), South Korea (458 million), Turkey (331 million) and the United Kingdom (109 million).
$7 billion of the total transfers received by individuals came through traditional international money transfer systems, $4.9 billion through direct money transfers to individuals' bank cards and $650 million through SWIFT bank transfers.
It is noted that the trend observed in 2024 of an increase in the volume of international money transfers to Uzbekistan is associated with an increase in economic activity and wages in the main partner countries receiving migrant workers, as well as with the diversification and increase in the flow of labor migration to developed countries.
