On November 13, the final plenary session of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference was held in Samarkand. This session marked the successful conclusion of the largest international forum, which was held outside the headquarters of the Organization for the first time in the last 40 years.
On November 11, 2025, at the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference in Samarkand, representatives of the participating countries of the Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage unanimously supported Uzbekistan's candidacy for the post of Chairman of the 25th General Assembly.
