The UNESCO - Uzbekistan Beruni International Prize in the field of artificial intelligence has been established

    The UNESCO - Uzbekistan Beruni International Prize has been established, aimed at supporting ethical research and development in the field of artificial intelligence.

    This decision was initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and adopted unanimously at the 220th session of the UNESCO Executive Board, held on October 22, 2024 in Paris.

    The award will be presented every two years for outstanding projects that promote ethics and inclusivity in the field of AI, as well as strengthen international scientific cooperation.

    The laureates, who will be selected by an independent international jury, will receive a monetary reward, a certificate and a medal in recognition of their contribution to world science.

    The first award ceremony will be held in Samarkand in November 2025 within the framework of the 43rd session of the UNESCO General Conference, which will emphasize the importance of the initiative in the context of strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and the international community.
