    Uzbekistan 31 May 2024 1953

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Bukhara region on May 31.

The Head of state visited the Bahauddin Naqshband Mausoleum. Verses of the Quran were recited, and prayers were said for the peace and prosperity of our people.

At the President’s initiative, the complex was further improved and its historical appearance restored. During the visit, the Head of state inspected the work done.

First of all, the historical passage from the Toki Miyona Gate to the mausoleum was restored. Now, pilgrims will go to the Bahauddin Naqshband Mausoleum from the Qibla direction, as tradition prescribes.

“The restoration of the gate destroyed a hundred years ago is the embodiment of our self-awareness and respect for history”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. “Now, on every monument here, on the Khan tombs, it is necessary to install inscriptions. It is necessary to ensure that pilgrims study history step by step and are filled with spiritual strength”.

There are gardens on both sides of Toki Miyona’s Gate. A museum and ablution facilities were built. The Doniyolbiy Madrasah, on the verge of extinction, is being restored.

In a conversation with scientists, issues of in-depth study of Bahauddin Naqshband’s heritage were discussed. It was emphasized that it is necessary to bring sources from other countries, support scientific research, and enrich the museum, following the example of the Imam Bukhari complex.

Instructions were also given to expand amenities for pilgrims, including foreign tourists, and create conditions for a comfortable stay at any time of the year.

Responsible persons have been instructed to develop a resolution covering these issues, considering scientists’ proposals.
