Uzbekistan has approved regulations for providing assistance to women and children who have been subjected to violence

    Resolution No. 354 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated 06/25/2024 "On measures to implement the system of providing social services to women victims of harassment and violence and their minor children" was adopted.

    In accordance with Presidential Decree No. PP-175 dated 05/10/2024 "On additional measures to improve the provision of social services to victims of harassment and violence", the Administrative Regulations for the provision of social services to women who have been subjected to violence and their minor children have been approved.

    The Regulations provide for the following procedures:

    placement of women and their minor children in the regional centers of the Republican Center for Rehabilitation and Adaptation of Women, provision of temporary shelter and eviction from them;

    registration of protective orders and information about the affected persons, their referral to the Inson centers through the Unified National Social Protection information system in real time;

    the provision of social services provided to women and their minor children by the Inson centers and their monitoring.

    Round-the-clock primary care rooms in emergency reception departments are being created experimentally: from June 1, 2024 - in the Jizzakh, Navoi and Khorezm regions, and from October 1, 2024 - in all other regions of the republic.

    Cases of harassment and violence against women are registered by employees of the internal affairs bodies on the basis of appeals received at the phone number of the duty station of the internal affairs bodies - 102.

    Then, within 24 hours from the moment the case of harassment and violence or the threat of their commission is detected:

    · A conversation is held with the person who committed harassment and violence, with the participation of a women's activist and a mahalla prevention inspector;

    · A protective order is issued by the prevention inspector;

    · Women who have suffered from harassment and violence and their minor children are placed in emergency rooms of central hospitals in districts (cities).

    The document also approved:

    · Minimum requirements for the organization and equipment of primary health care rooms in emergency reception departments of central hospitals in districts (cities).

    · The roadmap for the formation of the necessary infrastructure for the provision of social services in the regional centers of the Republican Center for the rehabilitation and adaptation of women.

    · The document was published in the National Database of Legislation in the state language and entered into force on 06/26/2024, Norma reports.
