More than 1,200 foreign and domestic specialists and experts from more than 30 countries, such as Azerbaijan, Belarus, Great Britain, Greece, India, Italy, Iran, Spain, including employees of higher and professional educational institutions training personnel in the field of tourism headed by First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Komiljon Karimov took part in the event.
The forum provides information on the strategy and role of educational programs in shaping the future of the tourism industry, as well as goals, vision and actions in this direction. Policy issues encouraging innovation and education of current and future generations in the field of tourism were also discussed.
The first main report "Education, Investment in the future" dealt with the opportunities and challenges associated with investing in education. The importance of coordinating innovations in the field, investments in tourism education was emphasized.
The second main report is devoted to the topic "Unlocking the potential of tomorrow: the transformation of technology, innovation and education for a limitless future." This lecture highlighted the latest technologies and trends in the field of education.
As a result of the forum, about 30 memoranda were signed in order to establish bilateral cooperation between higher and professional educational institutions that train personnel in the field of tourism.
It is worth noting that over the past three years, tourism education in Uzbekistan has been developing rapidly, the number of specialized higher educational institutions has increased from 16 to 30, and the number of students has increased from 4,100 to 11,500. In addition, at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage was established in Samarkand in 2018, which has become one of the leading tourist educational institutions of our country.
