On February 6-10 of this year, the second Conclave of SCO Young Scientists is being held in Bangalore (India). At the fifth meeting of the heads of ministries and departments of science and technology of the SCO member states, the heads supported the initiative of holding youth events (forums, contests, etc.) on a regular basis and agreed with India's proposal to host a Forum of Young Scientists and Innovators of the SCO on its territory.

The vision and goals of the SCO Young Scientists Forum are to create consortia of young scientists, specialists, innovators and entrepreneurs to conduct joint R&D, prepare the next generation scientific leadership in the field of science, technology and innovation (STI) and professionals in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), create internship and training opportunities for young researchers, etc.

The Conclave proposes to unite innovative young minds from the SCO member states on a common platform in a virtual mode to discuss issues such as "Ways and means of making transformational changes to solve social problems through scientific and technical interventions." It will also facilitate the fusion of ideas to solve specific problems of Member States.
