With the assistance of Malaysia, a training for museum workers will be organized in Tashkent

    A meeting was held in Kuala Lumpur between representatives of the Embassy, the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan and the Department of International Cooperation and Development of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia, the Museum of Islamic Art.

    Devrin Jack, Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Development of the Malaysian Foreign Ministry, highly appreciated the pace of development of cooperation between research and cultural institutions of the two countries. In particular, he highlighted the fruitful relations of the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan with the institutes of Islamic civilization and Islamic consciousness of Malaysia.

    The parties stressed that the memorandum of cooperation signed in Samarkand in July 2022 between the Center of Islamic Civilization of Uzbekistan and the Malaysian Museum of Islamic Art is being filled with practical projects.

    The chief curator of the Heba Museum, Nael Barakat, noted that in March-April, as the first major project within the framework of the partnership, a photo exhibition entitled "Uzbekistan – the center of Islamic civilization" was organized in Kuala Lumpur, which aroused great interest among Malaysians.

    It was also stressed that in cooperation with the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan, a special book-album "Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan in the collections of the Museum of Islamic Art of Malaysia" was prepared and presented in the city of Samarkand.

    As a result of the negotiations, in order to improve the skills of republican specialists in the field of museology, an agreement was reached to organize a training for museum workers in Tashkent in October this year with gratuitous assistance within the framework of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP).

    More than 50 representatives of museums of Uzbekistan are expected to participate in the training. According to the results of the educational project, special certificates will be issued to all participants, the news agency "Dunyo" reports.
