According to the press service of the Ministry of Energy, in the Development Strategy of the New Uzbekistan for 2022-2026, special attention is paid to the intensive development of hydrogen energy in the country. It is planned to approve by May 2022 a program for the organization of scientific research on the creation of technologies for the production, storage and transportation of hydrogen energy with a total cost of 10 billion soums.
Including:
- in 2023-2024 will create new technology (adsorbers for hydrogen storage, metal hydride media, nano catalyst to produce hydrogen and electrolysis based on solar energy) due to the implementation of research projects on materials and technologies for hydrogen energy;
- in 2022-2024 years will be organized scientific training 20 young scientists and specialists in leading foreign scientific centers and universities in the field of hydrogen energy.
It should be noted that in accordance with the decree of the Head of State dated April 9, 2021, the National Research Institute of Renewable Energy Sources was established under the Ministry of Energy, which also includes a Research Center for Hydrogen Energy and a Laboratory for Testing and Certification of Renewable and Hydrogen Energy Technologies, the press service of MICA reports.
