According to the UN report of the International Telecommunication Union for 2021, Uzbekistan was among the four countries that met the UN indicators on two percent availability of prices for broadband mobile Internet services.

This was announced by the Head of the World Bank Representative Office in Uzbekistan, Marco Mantovanelli, in his speech at the international round table on the topic "Inclusive digitalization and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) in Uzbekistan".

"Uzbekistan last year fulfilled the two percent indicator of the Broadband Commission at the United Nations on the availability of Internet services and is included among the four new participants (countries) that have met this target," Marco Mantovanelli said.

Digital development plays an important role in the economic growth of Uzbekistan and the creation of new jobs. The Government has set the issues of digital transformation as a priority strategic agenda. Many programs have been developed, including the Digital Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy and the New Uzbekistan Development Strategy for 2022-2026.

It was also noted that about 600 thousand new job seekers in the country competed for more than 200 thousand jobs, and today the Government is implementing measures and achieving new indicators in creating decent jobs for young people, strengthening their digital skills, increasing the number of business process outsourcing (BPO) services, creating remote workers places in Uzbekistan, especially in rural areas, the MITK press center reports.
