Five historical monuments were damaged in Bukhara due to illegal demolitions and earthworks

    In Bukhara, five archaeological monuments were damaged in the amount of more than 291 billion soums due to illegal demolitions and earthworks, the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office reports.

    The Prosecutor General's Office, together with the Cultural Heritage Agency, is carrying out measures to protect historical monuments. As a result of the events, it was revealed that five archaeological monuments located in the Romitan district suffered damage in the amount of 291.4 billion soums.

    Archaeological heritage sites in the Bukhara region have suffered due to illegal demolitions and earthworks, the press service notes.

    In particular, the greatest damage in the amount of 269.6 billion soums was inflicted on the archaeological heritage site "Tepa 9", dating back to the Middle Ages. Historical monuments "Kallai Mullabektepa" (19.7 billion soums), "Amirtepa" (1.1 billion), "Khoja Hakkitepa" (832 million) and "Tepa-5" (202 million) were also affected.

    According to the Prosecutor General's Office, a criminal case has been opened, preliminary investigative actions are being carried out.
