These measures are being taken to develop the agricultural sector and assist the population in obtaining income from their homesteads, as well as to create a permanent source of income for low-income and needy families.
So, in 2020, the residents of the mahallas of Al-Khorezmiy (Kurgontepa), Dustlik and Yurtdosh of the Syrdarya region affected by the man-made disaster at the Sardobinsky reservoir, at the initiative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at the expense of grant funds from the European Union, seedlings of various vegetables and melons of the Potato Research Institute, mini-agrotechnics, cultivators were provided, seeders and mowers for household plots.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture, the purpose of this gratuitous assistance is to further improve the standard of living and well-being of the population, ensuring employment of unemployed segments of society.
It is worth noting that among the population affected by the disaster, there are many who are interested in fruit and vegetable growing. Some families are already engaged in agriculture; some are discovering a new source of income for themselves. Such support will become an additional basis for further improving the standard of living and welfare of the population and increasing family incomes.
