On September 10 of this year, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan Huseyn Guliyev.

During the meeting, the sides welcomed the positive dynamics of the development of trade, economic and investment relations based on warm, trusting relations between the Heads of the two States.

Thus, by the end of 2023, the trade turnover increased by 26.5%. There are 230 enterprises operating in Uzbekistan with the participation of Azerbaijani capital in the fields of trade, mechanical engineering and metalworking, finance and insurance, real estate operations, energy, services, jewelry production, food and light industry. A solid portfolio of large mutually beneficial investment projects is being implemented on a mutual basis.

Measures to accelerate the implementation of agreements reached during the state visit of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan in August this year in such sectors as urban infrastructure development, industrial production, chemical industry and IT were discussed.

A common opinion was expressed on the importance of building partnerships between the business circles of the two states and the development of interregional cooperation. In this context, the readiness to take the necessary measures to support the business community and further strengthen cooperation in priority sectors was confirmed.
