In particular, it was noted that the Committee is introducing a law "On limiting the distribution and consumption of alcohol and tobacco products" into the agenda of the plenary session.

Recall that this Law was rejected by senators at the 27th plenary session of the Senate. A conciliation commission has been set up by the Chambers of Parliament to resolve the disagreements that have arisen under this Law. The comments and suggestions made by the members of the commission were discussed. In accordance with it, the Law has been amended and supplemented in the agreed wording.

This Law has certainly aroused the interest of the general public. The reasons for this are obvious. It is expected that the Law introduces several innovations limiting the distribution and consumption of alcohol and tobacco.

It was noted that thanks to the innovations introduced by the Law, the main directions of state policy in the field of limiting the distribution and consumption of alcohol and tobacco products are determined.

It is noteworthy that the restriction of the distribution and consumption of alcohol and tobacco products, the prevention of their negative effects is guaranteed by the state.

At the same time, it is prohibited to sell alcohol and tobacco products, tobacco and nicotine consumption devices to persons under the age of twenty, and the sale by these persons, the involvement of these persons in the process of alcohol and tobacco consumption. This age limit is extended by one year in comparison with the current Law.

The draft Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2023" was also discussed at the meeting on a preliminary basis. The budget expenditures for 2023 on science, education and healthcare were discussed. The Committee members made appropriate recommendations to the heads of ministries and departments.

In addition, the meeting discussed the implementation of the "Roadmap" for the implementation of the Law "On Transplantation of Human organs and tissues". The report of responsible employees of the Cabinet of Ministers and representatives of the Ministry of Health on the implementation of the "Roadmap" was heard.

In turn, the senators criticized the untimely fulfillment of certain tasks outlined in the Roadmap. In particular, they noted that the regulatory act on the establishment of the procedure for transplantation of human organs and tissues has not yet been approved.
