To test their hypothesis, scientists gave study participants low-sugar orange juice. The participants drank the juice under different conditions.
The first experiment was conducted in a room with red decoration, high frequency noise and heat. The second experiment was in a cool green area with a low frequency background.
The results showed that the juice seemed sweeter to the participants in the noisy, red-decorated room than in the cool, quiet area. Taking this into account, experts concluded that changing the environment would lead to less sugar consumption in food and drink.
