The II UNESCO World Conference on the Upbringing and Education of Young Children will be held in Tashkent

    The Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a press conference dedicated to the preparation for the high-level II UNESCO World Conference on Early Childhood Education and Upbringing (Global Forum) in Tashkent on November 14-16, 2022, as well as the activities of the Ministry of Preschool Education in the first half of 2022.

    It was attended by Minister of Preschool Education Agrippina Shin, Rector of the University of Journalism and Mass Communications of Uzbekistan Sherzodhon Kudratkhoja, Head of the Department of Policy and Systems of Lifelong Learning at UNESCO Headquarters Borhen Chakrun and specialist of the Early Childhood Development Program at UNESCO Headquarters Rohaya Diawara.

    The organizers of this event will be the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan, UNESCO, as well as other international organizations (preliminary consent for co-organization was received from the World Bank and UNICEF).

    Holding the event, which is usually held once every 10 years, in Tashkent will allow you to demonstrate the successes and achievements of the country, show your model for the development of preschool education, share and exchange best ideas and experience.

    The objectives of the conference are to confirm the right of all young children to quality upbringing and education, as well as to recognize it as the most important basis for lifelong learning and development, to assess the progress of member countries in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals related to young children, to exchange best practices and innovations, to identify priorities and strategies for increasing investments in the upbringing and education of young children.

    As a result of the conference, a final document will be adopted - the Tashkent Declaration, which will determine the international agenda in the field of preschool education until 2030. The final document will be prepared during the consultative process on the sidelines of the conference, translated into the six official languages of the UN and transmitted to all UNESCO member States.

    The event is planned to be attended by heads of international organizations and financial institutions, ministers in the field of education of various UNESCO member countries, as well as leading international figures in the field of science and education, including Nobel laureates, as honorary guests and speakers.
